Golf with a View...
Dalmunzie Golf Course is one of Britain’s highest 9-hole courses, set in an area of true natural beauty. The views in all directions are marvellous and can even justify a shoddy round! Scottish wildlife is known to roam wild on the course with hares, red deer and the occasional escapee woolly sheep being spotted by eagle-eyed putters!
For those seeking a base for a golfing holiday in Scotland (the home of golf), Dalmunzie is perfectly located, as it is within reach of other golfing spots such as Braemar, Blairgowrie’s championship Rosemount Golf Course, Carnoustie, Alyth, and St Andrews.
All Abilities Welcome,
Dalmunzie Golf Course is suitable for both pros and casual players. It has a par 30 for gents, making it accessible to newbie golfers, while still offering some unexpected challenges to the professional. The terrain is tricky in places and a certain amount of fitness and mobility is required (no buggies are available).
THE COURSE
The course was introduced in the 1920s, for personal use of Sir Archibald Birkmyre, his family, and his friends. It is he who accredited the course as having been designed by Simpson and Co. Golf Architects.
Today, it remains open to our hotel and cottage residents, as well as the public.
Green Fees
Dalmunzie's Golf Season runs from mid-April to mid-October (weather-dependent...after all, it is the Highlands...pack your wellies, just in case!).
Green fees and equipment hire to be paid by cash/card at Dalmunzie Castle Hotel reception upon arrival, where pencils and scorecards will also be available.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP
The Club, which was formed in 1946, has a small, but dedicated and very eclectic group of members from all over the globe. Three main competitions are held annually: a Spring meet in May, an August competition and the Captain’s weekend in October.
Whether you're a local to the Glens, or visit Dalmunzie often, a membership might be the perfect thing to get your summer steps in. Look out for our open day each August, where all are welcome; it's the perfect event to take part in if your curiosity has been piqued about joining the Club!

TOURNAMENT DATES
Three tournaments are held annually.
- Captain's Golf Weekend is usually held during the first full weekend in May. 2023's competition falls on Saturday, 29 April.
- Dalmunzie Open Golf Weekend is usually held during the first full weekend in August. 2023's competition fall on Saturday, 5 August.
- Autumn Golf Weekend is usually held during the first full weekend in October. 2023's competition falls on Saturday, 7 October.
